Concentrating phosphoric acid

We offer 3 types of vacuum concentration characterized by the heat exchanger model, plus the option of submerged combustion :

Heating elements in stainless steel

We have developed a heat exchanger that is specially designed to beneficiate acids that are highly susceptible to scaling. The heat exchanger consists of several stainless tubes which can be removed from the heating system or even replaced whilst the unit is in operation. The design has been specially thought out to make it easier to remove or replace the tubes, which in turn makes cleaning the equipment easier. The tubes have also been designed to enable a good transfer of heat between steam and acid. This type of exchanger is particularly useful for acids that are highly susceptible to scaling.

Carbon tube shell and tube heat exchanger

This type of exchanger is considered the "jack of all trades" version since it is suitable for all types of acid. A superior technique (using tubes reinforced with carbon fibers) is also available. For acids that are highly susceptible to scaling, stainless steel tubes may be used. Carbon-block heat exchangers are not recommended for the concentration of fertilizer-grade phosphoric acid.

Submerged combustion

The submerged combustion technique is often considered obsolete. However, when used in conjunction with higher-performance gas scrubbers, it can be extremely useful in manufacturing green acids for liquid fertilizers.

This technique is also particularly useful for producing super phosphoric acid (SPA).
