PURIFICATION OF GYPSUM

Although the Central PRAYON Process can produce merchant grade calcium sulfate directly from the filter, Prayon also offers clean-up downstream from existing dihydrate plants.

This process involves :

  • classification of the gypsum by removing the fine and coarse particles;
  • washing the gypsum to remove the soluble components (mainly residual phosphate, fluorine, and sodium);
  • filtering and drying the beneficiated dihydrate.
