In its pure
(Codex) form, purified phosphoric acid is used in the
synthesis of pharmaceuticals (e.g. penicillin).
Calcium phosphate is used as an excipient and a bulking agent
in the manufacture of tablets.
In powder preparations, calcium triphosphate
helps keep the powder easy to pour and prevents it from caking.
Calcium, magnesium and iron phosphates are also excellent sources of
extra additional minerals.
