Some industrial applications such as treatment
of metals and water treatment require special phosphates that
have a high degree of purity.
Our range includes mainly sodium
phosphates and potassium
phosphates (also
known as alkaline phosphates) as well as orthophosphates,
pyrophosphates, tripolyphosphates and polyphosphates. These
are salts of phosphoric acid, which are polymerised to
a greater or lesser extent, (phosphate chain from 1 to
n atom(s)). These may be acidic, neutral or alkaline.
Our
range also includes calcium phosphates and aluminium phosphates. In addition to the ion linked to P (phosphorous), the major
characteristics of our phosphates are the pH and the length
of the chain, giving it the following properties:
- Buffer agent (orthophosphates)
- Sequestrant (pyrophosphates,
tripolyphosphates, polyphosphates)
- Dispersing agent (polyphosphates)
- Water retention agent (pyrophosphates and tripolyphosphates)
