Although the Central Prayon Process
can produce merchant grade calcium sulphate directly from the
filter, Prayon also offers clean-up downstream from existing
dihydrate plants.
This process involves:
- classification of the gypsum by removing
the fine and coarse particles;
- washing the gypsum to remove
the soluble components (mainly residual phosphate, fluorine,
and sodium);
- filtering and drying the beneficiated dihydrate.
