As part of the Research, Technology & Growth Direction, the Research & Development team has a corporate mission across the Prayon Group’s four sites, covering technology and product development as well as environment and circular economy.

As a Research & Process Development Engineer, your job is to provide scientific support for the Prayon Group’s plant operators, sales staff, Prayon Technology Direction and the departments responsible for innovation.

Responsibilities

• Manage research and development projects in laboratory, pilot and factory up to the industrialisation phase – mainly at our Engis and Puurs production sites ;
• Participate in the initial maintenance of equipment/automats used in laboratories ;
• Coordinate, lead and motivate the technical staff in your team ;
• Develop your scientific knowledge, among other things, on the basis of the scientific literature ;
• Be a point of reference to provide advice and support, and act as the internal or external client contact for aspects related to the progress of the studies ;
• Make short business trips (a few days).

Profile

• Master’s degree in civil engineering in chemistry, agronomy or any other relevant field; a PhD is an asset ;
• Several years’ proven experience in process and research in the chemical or agri-food sector or any other sector related to Prayon’s activities ;
• Experience in process and in new product and process development ;
• Ideally bilingual in French and Dutch (at least able to work in Dutch) with an excellent command of English ;
• Analytical and synthetic mind, coupled with a broad creativity ;
• With both a focused and a “helicopter” view ;
• Good management of priorities ;
• Good organisational skills and rigour ;
• Able to work independently while actively collaborating with the team ;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
